We verify key details such as figures, names, titles, dates, and locations before publication.
Fairness and balance:
We make reasonable efforts to seek comments from relevant parties.
We avoid one-sided or misleading presentation.
We refrain from using exaggerated or sensational language in headlines or reports.
Editorial independence and transparency:
Durbin News makes editorial decisions independently.
Advertisers, sponsors, or any other third party cannot influence our news coverage or editorial decisions.

Conflict of interest:
We avoid conflicts of interest arising from personal gain, bias, or relationships.
Any potential conflict must be disclosed to editorial leadership.
Accepting gifts, favors, or improper influence is discouraged/prohibited.
Sources, quotations, and attribution:
We attribute information to sources whenever possible.
Quotes are presented accurately; we do not edit quotes in a way that changes their meaning.
We follow copyright and credit practices for photos, videos, and data.
Anonymous sources and sensitive information:
We may use anonymous sources only when there is a clear public interest and with careful restraint.
We take extra care when reporting on children, abuse, trauma, private individuals, and medical/family-related information.
We avoid publishing personal information unnecessarily.
Harm minimization:
For content involving violence, self-harm, hate speech, or incitement, we use responsible language and visuals.

Corrections and accountability:

Even if technology/tools are used in content production, editorial verification and responsibility remain with Durbin News.

নৈতিকতা নীতি:
Durbin News বিশ্বাস করে—সঠিক তথ্য, ন্যায্যতা এবং দায়িত্বশীলতা ছাড়া সাংবাদিকতা টেকসই হয় না। তাই আমরা সংবাদ সংগ্রহ, যাচাই, সম্পাদনা এবং প্রকাশ—সব পর্যায়ে কিছু মৌলিক নৈতিক নীতি অনুসরণ করি।
১) নির্ভুলতা ও সত্যতা:
আমরা তথ্যভিত্তিক সংবাদ প্রকাশে অগ্রাধিকার দিই।
গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দাবি/তথ্য প্রকাশের আগে একাধিক উৎসে মিলিয়ে দেখা হয়।
সংখ্যা, নাম, পদবি, তারিখ, স্থান ইত্যাদি যাচাই করে প্রকাশ করা হয়।
২) ন্যায্যতা ও ভারসাম্য:
সংশ্লিষ্ট পক্ষগুলোর বক্তব্য নেওয়ার চেষ্টা করি।
একতরফা বা বিভ্রান্তিকর উপস্থাপন এড়িয়ে চলি।
প্রতিবেদন বা শিরোনামে অতিরঞ্জন/সেনসেশনাল ভাষা ব্যবহার থেকে বিরত থাকি।
৩) স্বাধীনতা ও সম্পাদকীয় স্বচ্ছতা:
Durbin News-এর সম্পাদকীয় সিদ্ধান্ত স্বাধীনভাবে নেওয়া হয়।
বিজ্ঞাপনদাতা/স্পন্সর/অন্য কোনো পক্ষ সংবাদ কভারেজ বা সম্পাদকীয় সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে পারে না।

৪) স্বার্থের সংঘাত :
ব্যক্তিগত লাভ, পক্ষপাত বা সম্পর্কজনিত স্বার্থের সংঘাত এড়িয়ে চলি।
কোনো সম্ভাব্য সংঘাত থাকলে তা সম্পাদকীয় নেতৃত্বকে জানানো বাধ্যতামূলক।
উপহার, সুবিধা বা অনৈতিক প্রভাব গ্রহণ নিরুৎসাহিত/নিষিদ্ধ।
৫) উৎস, উদ্ধৃতি ও কৃতিত্ব:
তথ্যের উৎস যথাসম্ভব উল্লেখ করা হয়।
উদ্ধৃতি সঠিকভাবে উপস্থাপন করা হয়—কাটাছেঁড়া করে অর্থ বদলে দেওয়া হয় না।
ছবি/ভিডিও/ডেটার ক্ষেত্রে কপিরাইট ও ক্রেডিট নীতি মানা হয়।
৬) গোপন উৎস ও সংবেদনশীল তথ্য:
জনস্বার্থে প্রয়োজন হলে পরিচয় গোপন রেখে উৎস ব্যবহার করা হতে পারে, তবে তা সীমিত ও সতর্কতার সাথে।
শিশু, নির্যাতন, ট্রমা, ব্যক্তিগত গোপনীয়তা, চিকিৎসা/পারিবারিক তথ্য—এ ধরনের সংবেদনশীল বিষয়ে অতিরিক্ত সতর্কতা নেওয়া হয়।
অপ্রয়োজনীয়ভাবে ব্যক্তিগত তথ্য প্রকাশ করা হয় না।
৭) ক্ষতি কমানো :
সহিংসতা, আত্মহানি, ঘৃণামূলক বক্তব্য, বা উসকানিমূলক কনটেন্ট—এসব ক্ষেত্রে দায়িত্বশীলভাবে ভাষা ও ভিজ্যুয়াল নির্বাচন করা হয়।
কোনো গোষ্ঠীকে লক্ষ্য করে অপমান/বিদ্বেষ/হয়রানি—এ ধরনের কনটেন্ট প্রকাশ করা হয় না।
৮) সংশোধনী ও জবাবদিহি:
অনিচ্ছাকৃত ভুল হলে আমরা দ্রুত ঠিক করি এবং প্রয়োজন হলে সংশোধনী বা হালনাগাদের নোট যোগ করি।

৯) এআই/অটোমেশন (যদি প্রযোজ্য):
কনটেন্ট তৈরিতে প্রযুক্তি/টুল ব্যবহার হলেও সম্পাদকীয় যাচাই ও দায়ভার Durbin News-এরই।
ভুল তথ্য/বিভ্রান্তি এড়াতে মানব সম্পাদনা ও যাচাই বজায় রাখা হয়।
