Durbin News is committed to publishing accurate, verified, and relevant information. Before publication, we follow a multi-step fact-checking process to validate news and reports.
Core principles of verification:
Reliability: We assess the credibility, identity, and relevance of sources.
Multi-source confirmation: Key claims, figures, and events are cross-checked with multiple independent sources whenever possible.
Evidence-based verification: We verify information using documents, data, official records, photos/videos, or direct testimony where available.
Context: We aim to present facts with proper context to avoid misinterpretation or misleading framing.
Verification during reporting:
Reporters maintain notes/records of sources, time, place, names, titles, figures, and quotations.
We make reasonable efforts to seek comments from relevant parties.
If information appears incomplete or questionable, additional verification is required before publication.
Editorial checks before publication :Before publishing, the editorial team typically reviews:
Names, titles, spelling, dates, locations, figures, and units (e.g., currency/km/percent)
Accuracy of quotes and whether meaning has been altered
Consistency between headline and body content (avoiding misleading headlines)
Source and caption accuracy for images/videos/graphics
Legal, privacy, child-safety, or sensitive-content considerations
Photo/video and visual verification
We verify the source, time, location, and context of photos/videos.
We assess whether older visuals are being reused as new events or if manipulation is suspected.
Social media-sourced content is subject to additional cross-checking.
What happens if an error is found (Corrections)
If information is found to be incorrect, we correct it promptly.
When necessary, we add a “Correction/Update” note explaining what changed and when.(See: Corrections Policy)
Reader and stakeholder feedback:We take correction requests seriously and review supporting evidence. Providing sources and documentation helps speed up verification.

ফ্যাক্ট-চেকিং নীতি :
Durbin News সঠিক, যাচাইকৃত এবং প্রাসঙ্গিক তথ্য প্রকাশে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ। প্রকাশের আগে সংবাদ/প্রতিবেদন যাচাই করতে আমরা বহুপদক্ষেপভিত্তিক (multi-step) ফ্যাক্ট-চেকিং প্রক্রিয়া অনুসরণ করি।
১) তথ্য যাচাইয়ের মূল নীতি:
নির্ভরযোগ্যতা: উৎসের বিশ্বাসযোগ্যতা, পরিচয় ও প্রাসঙ্গিকতা যাচাই করা হয়।
বহুসূত্র যাচাই: গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দাবি/সংখ্যা/ঘটনা সম্ভব হলে একাধিক স্বাধীন উৎসে মিলিয়ে দেখা হয়।
প্রমাণভিত্তিকতা: ডকুমেন্ট, ডেটা, সরকারি নথি, রেকর্ড, ছবি/ভিডিও বা প্রত্যক্ষ সাক্ষ্যের মাধ্যমে তথ্য নিশ্চিত করা হয়।
প্রেক্ষাপট: তথ্যের ব্যাখ্যা ও প্রেক্ষাপট ঠিকভাবে উপস্থাপন করা হয়—ভুল ব্যাখ্যা বা বিভ্রান্তি এড়াতে।
২) রিপোর্টিং পর্যায়ে যাচাই:
রিপোর্টাররা তথ্য সংগ্রহের সময় উৎস, সময়, স্থান, নাম, পদবি, সংখ্যা, উদ্ধৃতি—সব নোট/রেকর্ড সংরক্ষণ করেন।
সংশ্লিষ্ট পক্ষের বক্তব্য নেওয়ার সর্বোচ্চ চেষ্টা করা হয়।
সন্দেহজনক বা অসম্পূর্ণ তথ্য প্রকাশের আগে অতিরিক্ত যাচাই করা হয়।
৩) সম্পাদনা ও প্রকাশের আগে চেক প্রকাশের আগে সম্পাদকীয় টিম সাধারণত নিচের বিষয়গুলো রিভিউ করে:
নাম, পদবি, বানান, তারিখ, স্থান, সংখ্যা ও ইউনিট (যেমন টাকা/কিমি/শতাংশ)
উদ্ধৃতি (quote) সঠিকভাবে আছে কিনা, অর্থ বদলেছে কিনা
শিরোনাম ও মূল কনটেন্ট যেন একে অপরের সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ থাকে, সে বিষয়ে সতর্কতা রাখা হয়।
ছবি/ভিডিও/গ্রাফিক্সের উৎস ও ক্যাপশন ঠিক আছে কিনা
আইনগত/গোপনীয়তা/শিশু-সংবেদনশীল বিষয় রয়েছে কিনা
৪) ছবি/ভিডিও/ভিজ্যুয়াল যাচাই:
ছবি/ভিডিওর উৎস, সময়, স্থান, এবং প্রেক্ষাপট যাচাই করা হয়।
পুরোনো ছবি নতুন ঘটনার নামে ব্যবহার হয়েছে কিনা বা এডিট/ম্যানিপুলেশন আছে কিনা—সতর্কভাবে দেখা হয়।
সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া সোর্স হলে বাড়তি ক্রস-চেক করা হয়।
৫) ভুল ধরা পড়লে কী হয় (সংশোধনী):
কোনো তথ্য ভুল প্রমাণিত হলে আমরা দ্রুত সংশোধন করি।
প্রয়োজন হলে “Correction/Update” নোট যুক্ত করে কী পরিবর্তন হয়েছে তা জানাই।(বিস্তারিত: Corrections Policy)
৬) পাঠক/সংশ্লিষ্ট পক্ষের ফিডব্যাক:পাঠক বা সংশ্লিষ্ট কেউ ভুল ধরিয়ে দিলে আমরা বিষয়টি গুরুত্বসহকারে যাচাই করি। প্রমাণসহ ইমেইল করলে যাচাই দ্রুত হয়।
